The World Class Development Seminar as part of RISE 10 – INSANITY October 19, kicking off the SHIMMER Weekend is now open for registration. This outing, Volume 1 OGs, will feature four facilitators who we will announce over the coming weeks.

For our first facilitator, we are thrilled to announce the return to RISE of Cheerleader Melissa! This will be Melissa’s second World Class Development Seminar with us after facilitating RISE 6 with Kris Wolf and the legendary Bull Nakano. In addition to aiding our mission in Developing Tomorrow’s Women Athletes, Cheerleader Melissa will be selecting her opponent for the RISE 10 – INSANITY Live Event direct from the Prospective Talent Pool!

Who else will join Melissa to facilitate Volume 1 OGs? Stay tuned to this website and our Social Media to find out!

It is a call no one ever wants to receive from someone they care deeply about. As many of our fans know, I have received four of those calls in the last two weeks. Four women who have been integral parts of RISE have been injured, all at possibly the most inopportune times of them all – before or during their first tours of Japan with World Wonder Ring STARDOM.

As stated before, NOTHING is more important to me than the health and well being of our talent, period. Every one of these calls has been heartbreaking. Put them all together, and it just seems unreal.

Delilah Doom, Shotzi Blackheart and Kikyo have been with us since RISE 1. Kylie Rae joined us at RISE 5. The genuine joy in their eyes when I told all four they were going to Japan, in front of a live, sold out Los Angeles audience, was something I will never forget. It is very high on my list for all-time wrestling moments. To see what that meant to all four women in that moment was truly unforgettable.

Tonight, I ask the wrestling community spread the word of a special Twitch Stream we will be hosting tonight, highlighting the RISE Careers of these four wonderful women. Let’s showcase the careers of some of professional wrestling’s brightest up and coming stars.

The RISE Twitch Channel, twitch.tv/risedtwa, has been outfitted with a PayPal donation button that will remain active all day and throughout tonight’s stream. Funds raised through this button will be dispersed evenly amongst the girls to assist in covering medical expenses and to compensate for lost earnings due to injuries.

Additionally, money raised through Twitch Bits today will also be distributed amongst the girls.

Tonight, we celebrate four wonderful women. And tonight, we prepare for just how amazing the epic returns of all four will be.

Wrestling community, please share, retweet, etc. Twitch Community, we appreciate as much hosting and sharing as possible.

And all, please discuss and share using the hashtag #RISEonTwitch.

I look forward to seeing everyone tonight.

Kylie Rae vs. Deonna Purrazzo

In the next twenty-four hours, four of my “kids” leave for Tokyo, Japan for their first tours with World Wonder Ring STARDOM. And when I think of this, I grin ear to ear with tremendous pride.

Two of my “kids” are unable to make their trips as scheduled due to injuries. And when I think of this, it just makes me want to cry. I know just how much this meant to them, but I also know their talent cannot be denied, and another opportunity will come with time.

All six of these amazing women have at least one big thing in common. At some point, they read about some thing called “RISE,” and decided to take a risk on a a yet-unproven concept of talent development. Rightfully skeptic, they all still took a chance on RISE. And, in turn, RISE has taken chances on them.

Britt Baker, Kikyo, Dust, Shotzi and Delilah all came to us at RISE 1 – IGNITE. Kylie Rae took her chance at RISE 5 – RISING SUN. All showed us their work ethic, spending entire days in grueling seminars with the likes of Saraya Knight, Colt Cabana, Tom Prichard, Mercedes Martinez, Cheerleader Melissa, Madusa, Aja Kong, Bull Nakano and more. Then on top of that would go on to wrestle, and in many cases, Main Event RISE cards. That’s no easy task.

One way or another, I know I have pushed all six of these women in ways that challenged them. At times, I annoyed them or even made them mad. I’d love to tell you I’m a peach to work with all the time, but I’m not. And these six women have had to put up with more of my wild ideas and moodiness than most.

And in their own ways, they all helped us build a brand. They helped us build a company that means something to the bigger picture of professional wrestling.

They’ve all helped me in more ways personally and professionally than I can ever articulate in a blog.

I only have one thing to ask of the girls.

Be you.

Be wonderfully, unapologetically you. You are all wonderful in your owns ways and have your own unique places cemented on our team.

You are the ones who earned this opportunity.

You are the ones who have done the work.

I love you, girls.

Now, go show the world how wonderful you are.

STARDOM…they’re coming…

In a heartbreaking announcement July 4, Delilah Doom informed fans that she is unable to compete after sustaining an avulsion fracture in her ankle in the brutal attack of Paradise Lost following the grueling 20-minute time limit draw with Shotzi Blackheart at RISE 8 – OUTBACK June 29. The injury has shelved Delilah for an uncertain amount of time.

As a result of her injuries and inability to defend the title, Delilah Doom has willingly relinquished The Phoenix of RISE Championship.

“This hurts for so many reasons. We never want to see any talent injured – ever. We know how much the Title means to Delilah and how much she means to us. This whole situation is painful in so many ways,” said RISE Executive Producer, Kevin Harvey.

As of this writing, The Phoenix of RISE Championship is vacant.

There WILL still be a match for The Phoenix of RISE Championship at RISE 9 – RISE of The Knockouts. It will still be a 30-minute IRON WOMAN MATCH! The winner of the match will be the NEW Phoenix of RISE Champion!

“The Ballsy Badass” Shotzi Blackheart will face “The Latina Sensation” Mercedes Martinez this Saturday night in Naperville, IL.

In addition to the shakeup in the title picture, this leaves us currently without an opponent for Allie. We have reached out to several world class competitors. We have heard back one and are frantically trying to make travel arrangements work to make this match happen.

We are still doing everything we can to provide a CAN’T-MISS event this Saturday in Naperville at RISE 9 – RISE of The Knockouts! Tickets are still available. Get yours today a pipeline.ecwid.com.

For better or worse, one thing I think any fans or followers of RISE will give me for all my faults is I have always been honest with them, both in the good times and the bad. I have been able to break awesome, exciting news. And I’ve had to drop news that’s sad and disappointing.

I wish I could tell you this was one of those exciting bits of news. But, again, there’s that honesty thing.

In under two years, we have been able to make a lot of noise and, not without its criticisms, provide a product that was met with almost entirely positive reviews as both a Seminar and a Live Event and Video Product.

More importantly, we have been able to do a lot of good, in my obviously biased opinion, for the entire industry.

Originally designed to be a discovery and development program for SHIMMER, to date, 34 talents who have received opportunities from SHIMMER were discovered through our program.

We have been able to develop a relationship with STARDOM. 6 women who made positive impressions upon our company and representatives from STARDOM have been selected for a tour of Japan in just a few weeks.

And recently, one of our own made her debut in IMPACT Wrestling after proving herself to IMPACT Management on hand for our Pittsburgh Seminar and tapings. And there are several other talents whose names are in consideration for future opportunities.

And yet, despite all that, our Seminars, the very backbone of our company, are all but completely bare. Even after lowering prices compared to RISE 5, 6, and 7, the RISE 8 and RISE 9 Seminars combined are not even half the attendance of any prior individual Seminar we’ve held.

Los Angeles, which has historically been our best market for Live Event attendance, is quite far off the mark from prior visits. We sold out in advance our last outing. Though we are expecting a decent turnout for RISE 8, it does not appear to be close to our prior outing at RISE 6.

And Naperville, two days of incredibly stacked shows, is less than two weeks away. And the presale tickets are actually less than RISE 1? I just do not know what to say. Still in our home market of Chicago where in the month of April we set a Berwyn attendance record for women’s wrestling, selling out in advance. Where have we gone wrong?

I’ve been beating myself up something fierce for the last week.

Did we do our fans wrong?

Did we oversaturate the market?

Is Naperville, despite being on top of a commuter train station and just off the highway, too far or too difficult for some of our core fans to travel?

Did our Seminars lose their value?

I could list a million questions I have asked myself a million times. But my goal is to not make this too rambling.

Here is what it all boils down to.

100% of the revenue from all RISE Seminars, video and merchandise sales (outside of revenue donated to fundraisers) was put back into the company.

I am not a rich guy. I make a reasonable five-figure living and I did my damndest to keep this thing going. I would love to tell you I can do this forever. But, there it is again. It’s that honesty.

As of this writing, the plans are to still move forward with RISE 8, RISE 9 and RISE – ASCENT Tapings through July 8. Too many wheels are already in motion to change this now. And, somehow, some way, this will all pull together.

Also as of this writing, I have pulled all tickets from the online store for RISE 10 – INSANITY, originally slated for October 19 in Berwyn. It is my goal NOT to cancel this event. Should that happen, tickets will be refunded for those who have purchased already.

But, if I’m being honest with myself and all of you, there is a nearly 100% chance that July 8’s RISE – ASCENT Tapings will be the last RISE Event, and that just breaks my heart in ways I cannot articulate.

RISE came for me in a time when I need a brightness in my life amidst a lot of darkness. And it provided that. Getting to know these women, watch them grow, watch them become stars…that is what I got out of this. I have not made $1. I have not received “any other benefits” that some imaginations create as my reasons for doing this.

I did it to do something good for women in wrestling. No more. No less.

I can honestly say I have given it everything I have. Every spare minute. Every penny I had. Every bit of love an attention I could muster went the way of RISE or the talent within it.

I bet everything I had on RISE. But that’s the trouble with gambling, you do not always win.

And this week the realization hit me that I can just no longer do it on my own financially. I am at a point where there are going to be significant, personal hardships and struggles. And sometimes, when you’re in the hole, you eventually have to realize how deep it is and you have to stop digging.

I still love RISE.

I still believe in RISE.

I still believe there is much good to be done from RISE.

Do you?

Do you want to help?

Then, please, let people know where to find us.

Let them know where they can view our shows in person if we’re in their area.

Let them know how they can see our amazing talents through our streaming videos or DVD and Blu-ray sales.

And if this is going to be it, let’s send it out in a blaze of glory. Let’s all come together one more time July 7-8 in Naperville, IL near Chicago.

Maybe we can all come together in a way that can help RISE soar once more.

Or maybe, this will be where RISE gets its final entry into the history books.

No one can ever say we didn’t try our hardest.

I am so, so sorry to all the fans and to the girls. I know this blog will disappoint a lot of people. No one is more disappointed than I am that I cannot pull this out any longer on my own.

To any who supported this idea, thank you. Whoever you are, however you did it, you were all part of the driving force behind RISE.

Thank you forever.
